DGPT Announces 2023 Playoff Registration Details

May 24, 2023: The Disc Golf Pro Tour is pleased to announce the registration details for its 2023 playoff events leading up to the DGPT Championship which will return to Nevin Park in Charlotte, NC, October 12-15. 

Registration for both playoff events, Discraft’s Great Lakes Open and the MVP Open at Maple Hill, will open to invitees only based on qualification through Tour Card Status, Tour Card Standings, and limited exemptions.

Discraft’s Great Lakes Open Registration will take place in the following waves:

Two After Portland Open

Starting June 5

Top 80 MPO & Top 40 FPO in DGPT points standings invited to register
Three After Ledgestone Open

Starting August 9

Top 96 MPO & Top 48 FPO in DGPT points standings invited to register

*Any players that reach the top 96 MPO or top 48 FPO in the points standings after Idlewild will be offered registration exemptions for DGLO. There will be 2 Event Exemptions awarded by the DGPT to players based on application requests based on international travel and/or injury. Tour Card player access does not extend to Silver Tour Card players. 

DGLO will be a four round tournament with a cut after Round 3 to the top 50% of the FPO field and the top 40% of the MPO field. The registration fee is $400 and the minimum added cash will be $60,000.

MVP Open at Maple Hill Registration will take place in the following waves:

Two After Preserve Championship

Starting July 3

Top 48 MPO & Top 24 FPO in DGPT points standings invited to register
Three After Great Lakes Open

Starting August 21

Top 72 MPO & Top 36 FPO in DGPT points standings invited to register

**Any players that reach the top 72 MPO or top 36 FPO in the points standings after the Discmania Open will be offered registration exemptions for MVP Open at Maple Hill. Tour Championship qualifiers does not include players who only played in the 2022 Tour Championship play in. 

The MVP Open will be a four round tournament with no cut. The registration fee is $400 and the minimum added cash will be $65,000. 

Upon the conclusion of the MVP Open at Maple Hill, the 2023 DGPT Points Series will be complete, and a Tour Points Series Champion will be crowned. Invitations to the DGPT Championship will then be final with the top thirty-two MPO and twenty FPO players earning a spot.
