2021 Ledgestone Insurance Open – HOW TO FOLLOW

The Disc Golf Pro Tour continues its path to the midwest with the next stop in Eureka, IL for the richest tournament in disc golf history, the Ledgestone Insurance Open, Presented by Discraft. The staff and volunteers have worked hard to make this year’s event a memorable one.  Courses in play include a brand new course, Northwood Black.  “The vision was to make it the hardest course in the world,” Ledgestone Insurance Open Tournament Director Nate Heinold said.

For the DGPT Elite Series event, MPO will be playing Eureka Temp (Par 63 at 9,665 ft) and Northwood Black (Par 64 at 10,529 ft).  FPO will be playing Northwood Black Short (Par 64 at 8,818 ft) and Sunset Hills (Par 61 at 7,539 ft)

Last year, we saw Ricky Wysocki take the win over Paul McBeth.  On the women’s side, Catrina Allen got the victory over Paige Pierce.  Wysocki is coming off a hot win at the Preserve Championship but he will need all that momentum to defend his title here in Peoria.  The new Northwood Black course promises to challenge every top level player, even the best in the world will find themselves scrambling to find the fairways.

The world’s best players will converge here to battle for a piece of the massive pro purse projected at $132,000.  Eagle McMahon coming off his DGLO win, James Conrad with the World Championship title, and Paul McBeth always in the hunt for the top spot, the field is set and battle is primed for an excellent weekend of disc golf.  In addition to tour stop mainstays, don’t count out the local talent, Clash at the Canyons winner, Dan Schlitter is hungry for another DGPT win.  And Illinois native, Gavin Rathbun makes his way to the feature card.

Ricky Wysocki took the win at The Preserve by 1 stroke. Edging out McMahon and McBeth.

On the FPO side, Catrina Allen is ready to defend her title but with Paige Pierce on her heels she is looking to add another win to her DGPT resume this year.  The FPO field has no shortage of stars either, Hailey King is coming off a 3rd place finish at the Preserve Championship.  Heather Young is back on the feature card, and the legend herself, Juliana Korver will be vying for the win.

Catrina Allen looks to defend her 2020 Ledgestone title.
