Festivities Return to Maple Hill for the MVP Open

Last year festivities for the Maple Hill Open took place in downtown Wooster where the event hosted its version of downtown disc golf hosted by Dynamic Discs. The event took place in the DCU Arena and saw several of the top pros play as the player check-in and meeting also took place downtown. While this created another unique aspect to the event, it was decided the event was better hosted in a central location, so this year, the festivities return to Maple Hill.

What are these festivities? Elite tournaments at Maple Hill are known for hosting a champions skin match where there will be $2250 up for grabs between skins and CTPs. For those who are not a previous champion at Maple Hill, there is Dubs Skins where the top six scorers from a play-in event on Thursday morning will have the opportunity to play for $1,000 plus all of the entry fees from the play-in earlier in the day. Wednesday will close out with Kids Disc Golf and an event pre-party that includes the return of the table tennis tournament among other events.

The event itself kicks off on Friday, but that does not mean the festivities end there. On Friday the distance, accuracy, and putting competition prelims will take place. There will also be an ice cream social, and the Nite Ize glow golf tournament.

The competition this year will feature a full FPO field with 31 competitors including the top 14 in tour standings. A stacked field will create a stacked field and an exciting position for players looking to play their way into a spot in the championship in October. On the MPO side, we see the return of Eagle and Simon to Pro Tour play which will be exciting to watch as players are jockeying for a final position in the Pro Tour Standings. Currently, perennial favorites Paul McBeth and Ricky Wysocki will be on the live feature card on Friday. Joining them will be Am-Side winner Nicolas Carl and a fan vote winner that is likely to be Eagle McMahon. You can read more about the feature cards at the following link .

Saturday will be another day steeped in competition followed by the finals of the distance, accuracy, and putting contests. It is clear the festivities will abound this weekend, and Maple Hill will be the place to be in central Massachusetts. If you have not already, make plans to attend or watch the MVP Open live starting at 2 PM ET each day August 24-26th.
