If you haven’t heard yet, after heavy storms moving in this afternoon the Idlewild Open Presented by Innova has been delayed. The FPO division was able to finish, you can read full coverage of their rounds here , but MPO was unable to complete the first round. About a quarter of the field did finish their round though so we can compare those scores to how the pros played last year. So before we dive into today’s play, a couple quick numbers from 2017. The hot round of the week was 8 under par, thrown only by Chris Dickerson in the final round. James Conrad won the event at a total of 13 under par. In a world of perfect rounds and back-to-back 16 under par rounds, finishing first at only 13 under par seems almost out of place.

The hottest round at the end of play today was Tyler Horne at 6 under par after 18 holes. Right behind him at 5 under par through 17, is Jake Hebenheimer. Congrats to both of these guys for besting and matching Nate Perkins round 1 hot score last year. Next on the leaderboard, tied for second at 5 under par is Kevin Jones, but he has only played 7 holes. Moving further down the leaderboard it’s hard to say there’s a round with more potential than Kevin’s right now. So far he’s 100% for Scramble and Circle 1 Putts. If he can keep those numbers there, he’ll have a great chance at the top spot.

Don’t count last year’s contenders out yet. Take a look at James Conrad’s Stats for his round so far!

.

He’s absolutely crushing it today…on hole 1. That’s pretty much the story today. Too many pros have yet to test their grit on the long, technical, and dangerous Kentucky woodlands. After weather brought the first round to an early call we will be getting more disc golf to you as soon as we possibly can. For everyone who was on the course still, they will resume their rounds with a 7 AM shotgun start. It looks like tomorrow three-quarters of the MPO players will be playing at the crack-o-dawn, hopefully, it will build a bit of empathy for the FPO players who are usually treated to the sunrise tee-times. After finishing the first rounds, all MPO players will play round 2 with the same group they played round one with, and if all things go according to plan, at the same tee-time as round 1 as well.

If you’re looking for updates check back here on the DGPT website’s Weather page . Finger’s crossed we’ll be back on schedule by the end of the day tomorrow and score-based cards for the final round, with the same live coverage we’ve provided all tour.
