Same champion, different event. Paige Pierce seems unstoppable this year and after a scary finish in WACO, Pierce made sure to make this victory a no-doubter. When it
was all said and done, Pierce finished 10-under for the event which was a full 10 strokes better than the competition. Paige was able to put the nail in the coffin today with a 2-under par 64 performance which was tied for the hot round of the day. The victory keeps Pierce undefeated in Disc Golf Pro Tour events for the season and she has now won six Pro Tour events in a row dating back to last season.
With the victory well in hand for Pierce, the attention turned to the battles down the leaderboard. The second spot on the podium was a battle between Jennifer Allen and Madison Walker. Still battling a slight injury, Walker was able to put together a solid event and capped off her tournament tied for the hot round at 2-under par. That performance was good enough for Walker to come off of the second card and onto the second spot in the podium. Walker will share the spot with Jennifer Allen who shot 1-under on the day to finish even for the event. Fourth place was secured by Sarah Hokom who finished 1-over for the event. Catrina Allen struggled in the final round and dropped three spots into fifth place.
The Disc Golf Pro Tour will take a short hiatus before picking up in San Fransisco May 25-27. Will anyone be able to challenge Paige Pierce or will her winning streak continue? Stay tuned to the Disc Golf Pro Tour for all of the exciting disc golf action.
