When the round started today the weather was not looking favorable. However, the weather held off and the women were able to make moves going into the final round of the Jonesboro Open.

Paige Pierce started the day with a one throw lead over Catrina Allen. By the time the lead card made the turn at hole nine that lead had moved to a three-way tie between Catrina Allen and Henna Blomroos.

Henna started the day hot, as she needed to because she was three throws off the lead. Both Henna and Catrina made up throws on Paige on the first two holes which helped to put them in position for the tie. Henna would make up the rest of her throws on Paige on holes eight and nine. On hole ten Henna would relinquish her part of the tie by taking a bogey, failing to capitalize on her scramble and two-putting. She dropped another throw on Paige and Catrina on hole 11 when she carded a par next to their two birdies. On hole 12 Paige regained her lead and Henna moved into a tie for second place when Catrina carded the bogey and Henna carded a birdie. On hole 13 things would change again when Catrina started her birdie streak and regained the lead. Catrina would continue her birdie run until hole sixteen where she would take a bogey and Henna would regain the lead making a birdie on seventeen. With the rain falling, the lead card made it to hole 18, and we had another lead change to end the day. In revisiting her nemesis from day one Henna bogied the final hole and Catrina grabbed a birdie to finish with the lead. Their rounds were rated 1008 and 1000 respectively.

Elsewhere on the course, Jennifer Allen had a solid round to help advance up the leaderboard going into the final day. Jennifer had an up and down round, but her birdies evened out her bogeys, and she was able to move up eight spots.

The weather does not look to be an issue tomorrow as the Play It Again Sports Jonesboro Open presented by Prodiscus will wrap-up with the lead women’s card teeing off at 10 AM ET. Make plans to tune in and watch because it will be a race to the finish here at Disc Side of Heaven.
