By Charles McCracken

The Disc Golf Pro Tour is thrilled to announce that Microsoft Teams has become the presenting sponsor of the 2024 Preserve Championship!

The 2024 Preserve Championship connected by Microsoft Teams will take place at the acclaimed Black Bear course from June 21 to 23 in Clearwater, MN.

Here’s what Microsoft Teams Head of Community Joey Taralson had to say about the new partnership:

“Disc golf’s history has been written by passionate people working together to grow the sport. Microsoft Teams helps communities connect and collaborate from anywhere, any time. We are proud to partner with the 2024 Preserve Championship and support disc golfers everywhere.”

Thanks to this collaboration, disc golf enthusiasts everywhere will have the opportunity to gain access to a newly launched Microsoft Teams community dedicated to bringing fans closer to their favorite players and discussing all the action on the Disc Golf Pro Tour. This initiative opens the door for a limited number of fans to engage directly with top competitors, participate in Q&A sessions, and get a chance to win some discs and other merchandise from competitors courtesy of Gotta Go Gotta Throw and the DGPT Pro Shop

Growing Together

Cale Leiviska, the visionary behind the Preserve Championship’s Black Bear course, and Jeff Spring, CEO and Tour Director of the DGPT, both expressed their enthusiasm for the new partnership with Microsoft Teams. This collaboration is not merely about enhancing an individual event; it’s about enriching the broader community that has played a crucial role in the sport’s development.

“Over the past four years, the Preserve Championship has grown into one of the country’s largest professional disc golf events thanks to the fantastic community across Minnesota and the region. With Microsoft Team’s support, we’re happy to offer the community who has built this event and the wider disc golf fanbase another opportunity to engage in all the exciting storylines on Tour and connect with their favorite players in a new way!”

– Cale Leiviska

“We’re delighted for the opportunity to work with Microsoft Teams this season. A key part of the DGPT mission is to transmit the story of professional disc golf as an engaging, high-quality experience that inspires and grows fans of the sport both on-site and online. We couldn’t ask for a better partnership in fulfilling that mission by creating a new digital space for fans to find moments of inspiration and nurture a love for the game we all share.”
